He knows that „Zidane trick“, he is only twenty years old and he is big prospect of Czech football and after great performances in the 2015/2016 season in Czech First Division and Czech Under 21 national team he is wanted for example by AS Roma. Who is he? Patrik Schick.

I originally wrote this for Football Manager Blog but I simulate career of this player until the end and you can read about it at the end of this article.

Patrik is academy graduate of AC Sparta Prague and he was born 24 January 1996. He played in Sparta’s youth categories and he scored 22 goals in 29 matches during 2013/2014 season during his spell with Under 19 squad.

He was often praised by youth coaches of Sparta and Czech national teams as well. He plays for national teams from Under 16 category. He made his debut in Czech First Division in May 2014 when he was 18-years old and he won the Czech First Division with Sparta that year.

He made this during league match against Olomouc and more than fifteen thousand fans applauded him for it.

In September 2014 he made his european debut when he played in Europa League against SSC Napoli in the Group Stage. He made a big progress during the last season 2015/2016. He went to Bohemians Praha 1905 for one-year loan spell and he played 27 league matches, scored eight goals and made three assists.

He is left footed 187cm high striker with great technique and he is great in one-on-one situations. Patrik i salso key player of current Czech Under 21 side. He scored 8 goals in 7 matches during this EURO Under 21 Qualification. Thanks to his very good performances this season he is wanted in the Europe, there is an interested from AS Roma for example.

He will come back to Sparta squad before the 2016/2017 season where he has a contract for one another year. He is in contract extension with the club as well.

In Football Manager 2016 he is very good young striker for countries like Czech Republic, Austria, Germany, Poland or France. I would play him as a Advanced Forward which is his best rated role alongside of Target Man role. I don’t play with Target Man role so I would definitely use Advanced Forward.

Patrik Schick_ Overview Profile

Every time I played for Sparta (also in FM15) I let him to play in starting XI despite his age because he always developed to key member of the squad and he moved to bigger club every time. In FM15 save with Sparta he moved to PSG. I made a simulation in FM16 and he finished his career in Dortmund.

I would certainly instruct him Anticipation as an Off The Ball in training and I would set him to „Challenge Keeper“ position in Corner kick routines.

Patrik Schick_ Reports Scout Report

When you start a new save in FM16 Patrik will be on-loan in Bohemians Praha 1905 from Sparta Prague. His contract is until 6/2016 so if Sparta will not renew his contract during the first season he will be available for free.

And there are screens from simulation of his random career in FM16. He stayed with Sparta until 2020 and then he moved to Standard Liege. After another 3 years he moved to Club Brugge. They bought him for £3,8M, club record transfer purchase.

After seven and half year he came back to Sparta Prague for a fee of £375K. His contract with Sparta expired after two seasons and he moved for a free to Hapoel Tel-Aviv.

In Juner 2031 he decided to retire from football and he became his non-playing career. He played 316 competitive matches and scored 106 goals and made 26 assists.

  1. Good to see young Czech youth prospects…

Unfortunately in Hungary, there are not many. Our best player is Dzsudzsák Balázs right now, he was the youth product of Debrecen, then he signed for PSV Eindhoven. He was outstanding in Eindhoven, then he chosen money and signed for Anzhi Mahackala then for Dinamo Moscow and now he plays for Bursaspor in the Turkish League… annnnd they want to get rid of him this summer IIRC.

Sad to see that such a great player had this kind of career, and decline. He is now 29 years old.

    1. I remember Balázs when he played for PSV against Sparta in Europa League Group Stage in 2009/2010 season. He was outstanding. He played for Dinamo Moscow against Sparta in pre-season friendly two years ago and there he was much worse. Unfortunately it’s all about the money
