There are a few quotes in football that people remember. Take for instance Kevin Keegan’s glorious ‘I would love it if we beat them’ rant. Well it appears my ‘We can’t fail to win this title’ has made that list.
The 11th season of my FM17 save with Reading is over and I decided to make another update of players who are in the club from the beginning. Some of them already left us in previous two seasons but it was not a huge exodus. But some them wanted to go for a new challenge and I decided to not stay in their way.
I wrote “Stick with the team” at the end of the January this year and this part was after the seventh season with Reading.
After many trophies in the previous seasons, the eleventh season was not the same. In many ways. But despite we did not win seven trophies again, this season was successful. In many ways.
“In many ways…”
A long dark winter has passed but this time it’s been a very busy one. Having spent the previous mid-season break absconded in my flat watching the windows ice up on the inside,eW I decided to spend this one travelling.
Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the second post about Football Manager Slack Tactics Challenge. After challenges with Nice and Anzhi, this time we took over Polish side Lechia Gdańsk with a 4-4-2 formation and to use Target Man and Poacher was a must.
“Part Of The Furniture.” I know I used this as a title of one of my post about AB save during FM16 but It would be really strange if I would not have this badge in the Steam Library within achievements this year once again.
Except for short experiments with new tactics, I always prefer long term saves and almost all the time it’s only one save just from the Beta version of the game.
This year is the same.
My save with Reading is ten years long now as I finished the 2025/2026 season and we could take a look back on what we have achieved.
virtual football managers, our worlds can get a little chaotic at times. We are always thinking, always planning. If you are anything like me then you will also like to control every aspect of your club; from top to bottom. At times, it can get a little daunting.
10 games until the promotion/relegation split. We looked good but you never know what’s around the corner in this game so we had to keep pushing on. Only certain results are carried through to Stage 2 of the league campaign so points are vital right up to the end.
12 months is obviously a long time in football. A year ago we were favourites of a different kind, The bookies gave us no chance at all and the local rag claimed only a miracle would stop Fredensborg finishing bottom of the pile.
So with 4 games left to go, all away from home, I reckon 3 wins might just nick a promotion spot.
